Akanksha is an RCI-registered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of extensive experience in clinical, counseling, and forensic psychology, working with adults, children, geriatric populations, and the LGBTQ+ community. She has a major clinical practice across different suburban areas of Mumbai, including Andheri, providing accessible and high-quality psychological services. She developed her passion for psychology early and formalized it through her education, earning an MA, M.Phil., NET, SET, PhD, DCMH, DTTM, and currently pursuing Law.
She has conducted over 20,000 IQ and psychological assessments for children and provided therapeutic interventions for more than 5,000 cases, including various therapies such as CBT, DBT, and others. Akanksha has handled a wide range of complex clinical and medico-legal cases, providing evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs; this includes over 800 medico-legal assessments in different government settings. She has four years of dedicated experience with LGBTQ+ populations, extensive work with children, and involvement in old age home care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Akanksha has mentored over 300 psychology students, guiding their internships and practical training across various organizations. She has also conducted over 40 workshops in different institutions, sharing her expertise and practical knowledge with students, professionals, and the wider community.
A prolific researcher, she has contributed 60 publications, including national and international journals. Her major research works span a wide range of areas, including Virtual Reality and Autism, mental health in Generation Z, epilepsy, visual-spatial memory skills (VSMS), screen time and adolescent behavior, internet addiction, suicide prevention, psychosocial issues in the transgender community, AI and mental health applications, women’s and maternal mental health, Indian festivals and mental health, parenting styles, MCMI, creativity and schizophrenia, Down Syndrome, parental age factors, work-life balance, and criminal psychology, reflecting her extensive engagement with both clinical and developmental psychology.
Akanksha combines clinical, forensic, therapeutic, research, and mentoring expertise with a multidisciplinary approach to deliver high-quality psychological services across age groups and special populations. She is fluent and comfortable working in Hindi, English, and Marathi, which allows her to provide inclusive and accessible care to diverse communities.
